DigitalLawUK at International Weekend

DigitalLawUK Managing Director Peter Wright and Consultant Heather Anso both spoke at the London International Weekend on 25 September at the Law Society on Chancery Lane, London.

The Conference of young Bar Leaders from around the world presented an opportunity to meet old friends as well as making new ones, including Lacy Durham & Mario Sullivan from the United States, Nonna Leontieva from Russia and Joana Mota Agostinho & Diogo Lopes Barata from Portugal. The 3 day event began with a welcome reception on Thursday evening in a bar overlooking the Thames.

The following morning Heather kicked off by presenting a session on networking skills for those attending conferences and events in different jurisdictions. To see Heather's presentation, see here

Peter Wright presented a session on Social Media &  The Law and you can see the slides above.

The morning presentations were followed by a lunch in Middle Temple Hall. After trying to explain what Inns of Court are and the solicitor / barrister split of the legal profession in England and Wales to our international guests, we settled on the description that it was basically Hogwarts for Barristers, which I am sure you will agree with given the layout of Middle Temple Hall below.

We were unable to stay for the rest of the Conference due to commitments in Prague and Amsterdam but by all accounts the international delegates enjoyed both the Conference and the Opening of the Legal Year and International Weekend will be returning again in Autumn 2016 as usual.
